Coming Soon ....

No .. not a sordid skanky MSN encounter (although there is one of late I might relate, of which edhunter would smile at) but I am currently working on nudging the brain and memory cells into recalling (on a best efforts shot) the SECRET GARDEN 'Incident'.

Will post once I can accurately get everything factually correct and hide characters so I don't get myself in the poo.

Roll on Friday .. roll on Saturday .. its Bledisloe!! (which means muntification).

Note: Go to K-E-N-N-Y's site off the menu on the right. Its updated with some stuff which is a laugh.

A Point to Ponder

Just a short entry for today :)

Surely we have all wondered at some time or another regardless of religion or belief ... "is there something after"?

I know there is something after but everyone in their own way must find this out their own way .. somehow. This does not mean embarking on a search for the Holy Graile or other such missions of madness but to contemplate the hows and whys and the reasons why we are what we each are.

Sleep is sleep and if we dream, when we sleep, the experiences encompassed by the dream 'may' be considered (IMHO) what it may be like in the there after. A place where a physical anatomical presence is not needed at all.

Have a great Wednesday :)

Mun-day .. Mun-dayyyyyyy

It was a case of .... "ITS THAT TIME". E-mails flew, the deal was cut and a m33r went walkabouts.
1st stop .. the Bunker on Airedale St.
2nd stop ... Dolls House. Good that the pokies were out of commission cos that saved dorrahs.
3rd Stop .. sputniks. Now that was interesting cos I stayed on top .. nothing to write home about but double-double so all good .. bloody TUI :S
4th stop .. Margueritta's upstairs. Pool! Deal cut .. best of 5. No FRICKEN chalk ... bar closes .. m33r 2 up to Bodriguez 1. Downstairs. (note: to the previous post - navigation now 100% :P)
5th Stop .. Margueritta's downstairs .. bailed cos .. saus fest and it looked like the bar was closed.
6th Stop .. The Globe. Not bad. Finish the Pool bet. M33r gets through .. wins an ale. Bar wench approaches and asks if interested in pool comp. Initial response (besides that of lust and pr0n) .. no ... but won over in the end as it was an excuse for more ales. M33rs game ... BLAH ... *gone*. Riguez's game .. BLAH *gone*. Met up with a mate I aint seen for yonks (Keith U) and had a bit-o-a-chinwag. Used to be his boss @ Farmers/Telstra :P Since we bummed out in the pool comp .. time to bail.
7th Stop .. good ole faithful .. The QF. The bastardo's now have a fries' thingy there now so its all good if u have the munchies (m33r rule #43: Food IS cheating when muntification is in progress (but not after)). Stayed for a couple .. listened to the tourists rant and rave then moved on. Gary had the following to add:

INSERT NOTE: Albion Tavern apparently has had a $1.2M face-lift in the bar. Rumours suggest that when you go in there, its like sitting (lots of couches) in a 'very posh upperclass' lobby of a Hotel.

MENTAL NOTE: must add to the 'TO DO' list to visit this place - it was the bar where Britton downed 4 whiskeys (the first one .. 2nd one was Fiddlers) and got *** ACCESS DENIED ***. That was after the 'Secret Garden' Fiasco where .. well thats another story.

8th Stop ... BK Down Town. (Will leave this to K-E-N-N-Y to comment on oneday).
9th Stop ... Taxi rink. The prick still didn't know how to efficiently get from point A to point B but I kept my gob shut :P (There comes a time when I can :P)
10th Stop ... home thank christ and in a state that 30 munted Leprechauns would be proud of me:)

Thus .. ends .. Monday :)

Kitty Kat Nappers

The goths from next door have moved out and the heartless wenches forgot to take their kitten! Actually its a wonder they didn't kill it and offer it to their goth god as a token offering :P

Grafton dot Net has now adopted the feline fury so we will have to get it used to drinking ICE or sp8's.

Take Care When Topping-Up Before Hitting Town!

Good lesson to be learnt here. It doesn't pay to have too much top up munt juice before hitting town. 4 stubbies maybe but not 16 :(

Every Friday at work the company throws open the fridge and its open slather from 1700 till 1900. I think the objective of this generosity is to have a couple or so to wind down from the week. The m33r however takes this as a way of getting munted before going home so the couple turns into 10 very quickly and on most occassions 12. Last Friday the commander in his usual manner of wanting/yearning to partake of the amber influence came around and it was to be a night in town. Whilst waiting for him to arrive, m33r consumes another 3 ICE's. On his arrival, yet another 3 were consumed whilst chin-wagging and waiting for the 'steady cow'. Steady Cow (taxi) arrives so m33r, commander and the Bodriguez are off to Sky City and the Atrium bar. A couple of rounds each there (plus a good winning on the pokies by Bodriguez) and the move was to Bar 3 upstairs. With the 16 odd stubbies before hand and now a stomach full of schooners, needless to say the effects of this all was starting to kick in .. unfortunately. Matt0r and Bodriguez had no problems walking past the bouncer to get into bar 3, however it was quite the opposite for m33r. Thoughts running through the head were "for christ's sake don't fricken wobble and stumble". What happens when I walk past the bouncer ... wobble .. stumble ... erk! I manage to get around the corner out of sight of the bouncer but then I hear a "Sir .. Sir ... excuse me .. but how much have you had to drink"? My reply, if i recall, was something synonymous with "A shit load mate". I was promptly advised to sit myself down and watch the league where upon the bouncer went and rounded up the other 2 advising them I had been **ACCESS DENIED** :P

After that it was off to Marguerittas where amazingly I had *** ACCESS GRANTED ***. The walk (stumble) up the stairs was shattering however and I near tripped ass over kite going up.

So the moral behind all this is "If you drink (heaps) before you town it ... you're a bloody idiot" :P

Its been a while ...

Jesus Yarped! It has been a while since this thing was updated.

A lot has transpired since the last posting. Managed to land a permanent job with a small but busy ICT. Although I applied for a Level 1 Engineer position they ended up interviewing me for a role of Service Delivery Coordinator of which I got. Lot different from L1 Engineer and now, after a couple of months, I can say its a good role and easy once m33r tactics and diplomacy were implemented. The customers also are 10,000 times better than Telco or ISP customers - they don't whinge and whine and get shitty. There are a lot of similarities though. Where upon under TelstaClear everyone used to moan and groan about Telecom, we now moan and groan at players like IBM and HP. Mainly because they take their time resolving our customers issues that are under warranty. The pay here isn't that great BUT its better than looking for a job without having anything and that was the boat I was in before landing this role. I can now browse for better jobs now and take time without stressing out having nothing.

Life at Grafton dot net is still good and the muntedness still prevails. Of particular note in a session was when putty tat, commander and stalker arrived for a few cold ones and Rasta-flattie and his mate turned up. Flatties mate had these 'sparkly red shoes' on and commander and co promptly set about transforming him into 'Dorothy' from the wizard of Oz - cheeky buggers. The phrase '3 clicks and I'm gone' seemed to be Darryl's new description.

Changes galore at the Farmers lead Telco too. My old Hoff-Net team have relocated back to Takapuna so no more fricken Penrose for them .. excellent. Bry has left the CH Circus and now works for the opposition. The midget also clicked his heels and said 'up you' and he left to work for a company that deals with 'printers'. Commander also abandoned the USS Circus and now works with Mantis down on the IS Helpdesk.

The laugh of late would have to be the story about one of commanders mates. For all intentions, this mate shall remain nameless. The night of commanders (and midgets) send off from CH saw muntification to the highest degree apparently. So much was muntedness that this mate of commanders went home and promptly shagged his dad's girlfriends daughter. Hrmmmm ....

Over on the right hand side of this page under 'Links' I have added a link to my mates Blog/Website. He is currently in London and now and again updates it with funny stuff.

The Tour of Duty concludes.

My 3 week 'tour' with the tinpot excuse for an outsourced solutionised call centre has finally concluded as the 'Census' campaign has now finished. A lot can be said about the operational and management side of this company however I do not really want to have myself end up on the end of a law suit so I will keep it zipped. All I will say is that queue stats come before customer service. Excellent trainer and excellent cannon fodder (the CSR's) pity about the pay rate.

Interview today with Telecom down at 'The Cube' for a management position within their Managed Services Department. Remuneration and perks sound great so I am keeping fingers crossed.

The end of daylight savings is sucking big time as my sleep is all buggered up with that and the night shift. Also its too dark now in the evenings for the BBQ mishes so it sux2bnz.

Saint Paddy's has been and gone .. so did my phone.

Saint Patrick's Day for 2006 came and went with it's usual accompanying muntedness and jollification. The Pre-Match 'function' was held at the Grafton residence and in attendance was Shay-fu (up from down Welly) and 'The Commander' (suitably attired with a green tie). Guiness and Ales flowed freely over the course of about 2 and a half hours later and on leaving the place, a litter of containers filled the front porch - this was to be the downfall of the m33r because as the rest of the night progressed, that 'very full feeling' was starting to wreak itself upon the body. First stop was this place on K-Road. I thinks its called SPE or SPF or something like that - they make wood fired pizza's there and serve a wide range of ales and concoctions. First m33r quote went down here as the barmaid that was serving looked like she didn't want to be there. Whilst I was waiting for my change, the quick comment was something like:

m33r: "Do you like your job here Miss"?
b-maid: "Yes I do"
m33r: "Well FRICKEN well smile then"!

Needless to say it went down like a lead balloon but these things happen and jeebus she looked sour :P Next stop was the Play House (aka the Dolls House). Starting to forget things a bit now but we did make it to the QF Tavern and enroute gay young leprechauns crossed our pathes - erk. The planned Itinerary of:
Claddagh -> Black Penny -> The Bog -> O'Carolls -> Muddy Farmer -> Viaduct -> QF Tavern and others went totally out the door. A combination of muntification and bloatedness bought a sudden halt to the proceedings where I desserted the ranks and went home and the others succumbed to the temptation of something up near the top of Queen Street :P
The tour home saw a stop at Wendy's for a burger and then a taxi home. Because the fare was only from just above mid-city to Grafton, the 'foreign' taxi driver didn't want to take the ride. Needless to say he got the full lay down from myself in regards to his ethnicity, religion and inability to be a successful and customer orientated businessman. The taxi behind this imbecile offered to take me home so that was OK and enroute I found out that this driver was a mate of the guy I just bollocked - great. Abuse started again where upon I asked him to stop and I walked the rest of the way home which was only about 150 meters. Although that guy got an earful and a slim fare, he has the last laugh because in my 'current state' I left my cell phone in his car. In respects to this cell phone I have been advised by all and sundry that Jesus had a better one than mine so in all honesty its good riddance to the phone.

Such was Saint Paddy's for 2006 :)

So many and I mean soooo many different hats ...

Well 7 March went and what a laugh. It would not be proper to comment on the happenings on the night so I will abstain from mentioning anything. We are still sending out stuff and most of the calls are when are they going to pick them up (read through that and you'll have it in a nutshell). Even more hillarious is the fact that this call centre appears to answer every 0800 number on the damned TV screen. One minute your fielding inbound from company A then the next call is from company B and then one from church M - never been so confused in my whole life. Pay went through last night and I nearly fell over dead with laughter (and despair). What I got was a third of what I used to get under the 'Farmers Lead Telco' - such is life outside of a corporation :)

Speaking of that Telco, the incentive went through. What another bloody fiasco. Got the paperwork and the break down on it in the mail today and looking through it, I accepted that what I received, although pathetic, was a fair payment. The cupboards and freezer is now stocked up a bit and Mister B33r Fridge is looking healthy again - no less than 6 dozen of assorted ales including a dozen of Guiness for St. Paddy's on Friday!! Also a 40's of Seagers and some lime and soda :)

"Nights" aint too bad ...

Been shovelling in hours from 1200 through to 2300 of late and I am finding it not too bad. Coming back home and demolishing a few coldies before 'dinner' and watching the late late show on Sky then turning in around 0300 is quite amusing. Only bugger is that 99% of everyone is asleep IRL or OL. Work has finally got less busier and the majority of queries are now 'when they going to come to pick them up'. Everyone appears to be scared stiff of the $500 fine and the $20 per day penalty. Had a great call last night where, quite obviously by dialogue and accent, I had an pacific islander on the end of the line. He was adamant that the form was going to identify all 'his cuzzy's that shouldn't be here' and no way in hell was he going to fill in the form. He then went on by saying that there was no way I knew who he was or where he was. He obviously didn't know what Caller ID block was and when I rattled off where I thought he was going by STD and EXCH code you could have heard a pin drop. Poor TCL got a blast today as I lost my patience and blasted all and Sundry so you can ignore my comment now in the previous post :)

A trying week

Blahhh! Well its the weekend again and because of stuff happening during the week, the blog took the back row. Lets recap on the week past.

I have a 'temping' job at the moment working for a company (for all intents and purpose, it shall remain nameless) that 'helps people fill in a particular little form' - no prizes for guessing what I am doing. Its not toooooooo bad, the pay sucks but at least it will pay off this and that and bring forth an ale or two. The customers arent too bad compared to Telco/ISP customers and they aren't too bad to talk to. The average talk time for this fiasco is 80 seconds (what ever happened to customer service). On my first day what happens - an elderly lady that wanted a step by step walk through of both forms :( Result - that call took 28 minutes! Other calls bought that call length down but then the last call was another walk through so that blew things out of the water again - brilliant. Team Leader passed mention at the end of shift that the calls were long. I replied asking what do we do then? Tell the person to foff off? No reply :)

My previous employer has still stuffed up my partial incentive payment that was due by end of February. I am pleased that I haven't (as is usual) lost my temper and abused all and sundry over this but have instead bit the tongue and taken things as they have come. Hopefully next week something will come through.

BBQ Whole Chicken tonight accompanied by coldies. ODI today with Windies vs Black Caps @ Eden Park so should be a great arvo.

Tis the weekend!

I'ts Saturday today and as per usual the weekend will no doubt bring its share of laziness and muntification. Muntification will appear, unsuprisingly, in the form of copious amounts of 330ml bottles of ICE - preferably this would be capped off with a few Jack's but considering the present state of affairs in regards to the 'cash cow', this will not be the case.

High chances tonight of the usual grafton dot net BBQ. Around here we despise gas BBQ's and prefer the wood coal/charcoal - you kinna beat that smokey taste! Yes, it does take longer but all the more time to relax with a few (shit load) coldies whilst stuff cook's. W0rd has it that tonights effort will see a bolar roast offered to the grill. That and a couple of spuds with garlic butter wrapped in tinfoil should see the gut taken care of. A 'once in a blue moon' delicacy (when it can be afforded) is the BBQ-ing of a side of Salmon. That in its own is a meal and if you are a fish-freak, bloody nice (feel free to contact me should you want the prep details for it). Another bit of advice for the wood coal/charcoal enthusiast should there be any: Go to The BBQ Warehouse and grab yourself a bag of Mesquite wood chips. They are 'smoking' chips you add to the coals before cooking and they give your grub a damned nice smokey flavour.

The week just ended bought about interesting developements on the unemployement front. I have a fricken temp job to go to on Monday. It is the sux but then its cash I spose and its only for a couple of weeks. The other job is a night shift role which is Tuesdays to Saturdays working 0100 through to 0900. I have 2 others with Telecom (eek) in the wings but they do not close till early March.

Just heard on the radio that they are going to jettison James Doohan's (Scotty from Star Trek) ashes into space - a fitting tribute I reckon.

NZ's Broadband 'Under Fire'

TV3's 'Campbell Live' last night had Telecom New Zealand's CEO on air to answer questions regarding the shocking state of our broadband services and the possibilities of unbundling our local loop. There was also a piece in there on the attrocious pricing of our cellular services. All boils down, IMHO, that there isn't enough competition within New Zealand. You can view the TV clip from this link:

And thus it begins ....

Possibly boredom has driven me to start one of these BLOG thingy's. As time passes and as it permits, I shall attempt to update when I can :)
